Sunny Deol discovers importance of promotion after ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’

 
Sunny Deol has been in Bollywood since almost last three decades but he has learnt the benefit of promotion of a film only after the release of his last movie Yamla Pagla Deewana, which starred his dad veteran actor Dharmendra and his brother Bobby Deol.

The 54-year old action hero has learned the trick of promoting films and how it helps in the success of a movie after they did huge promotional activities for Yamla Pagla Deewana. He never knew that marketing could do wonder a film. Now, sunny knows that marketing and promotions are integral parts of film production.
Yamla Pagla Deewana started with a stunning response at the Box Office and earned a net amount of Rs. 240 million during the first weekend in India alone. The actor is a relieved man these days as his home production was a grand success at the Box Office.
Speaking about this latest realization, Sunny said that he failed to realize the importance of promotion and marketing during all these years. The actor termed promotion as the tail of the elephant (movie). He said for the success, both the tail and the elephant have to pass through the door.
Sunny said that his last movie Right Ya Wrong could not do well at the Box Office because of lack of proper promotion.
In the meantime, the action man is planning to return to his genre ‘action’ in the coming days. However, he is waiting for a different and unique project, which will present him quite differently from any of his earlier movies. The fans of the actor would also love to see him return to his action avatar again.

‘Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji’ collects Rs.15 crore during weekend just from India

 
Madhur Bhandarkar has been lucky again as his last week’s release Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji has been able to earn Rs. 15 crore during the weekend only from India. It is a great start and indicates its smooth journey at the Box Office.

So far, 2011 has been lucky for the filmmakers as all the films released till now have been successful at the Box Office. The other releases include Yamla Pagla Deewana, Dhobi Ghat and No One Killed Jessica and none of them have been disappointed.
Speaking about the prospects of his movie, Bhandarkar said that he kept a close watch at the progress of the film in the industry and trade circles. The filmmaker added that he got positive vibes from the viewers of Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji, who watched it before the release. He is quite pleased with the response of the viewers and the critics, who offered some positive reviews in its favour.
Its first weekend collection is just Rs. 3 crore less than his Priyanka Chopra starrer movie Fashion. A source close to the film was quoted saying that the film was made with a limited budget even though it starred big names like Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi. The production cost of the film was kept at Rs. 22 crore while Rs. 6 crore was invested in print and publicity. Considering its first weekend collection, it seems that collecting Rs. 28 crore will be a very easy task for the film.

Mallika Sherawat wins profanity case

Mallika Sherawat wins profanity case: Mallika Sherawat has won a case against her for an "obscene" dance performance at a five-star hotel. The actress was sued by Indian morality campaigner Vinod Jain for the dance, which was broadcast live on television in 2006.

Speaking to the Mumbai Mirror, Jain said that he would carry on fighting the case. He commented: "I don’t see this as the end of the road. I agree that Mallika has been discharged legally but I will go to the high court.

"I had given all the evidence via a CD. Let’s see what happens in the high court after I appeal.”In 2008, the Pakistani Film Authority tried to remove scenes from the film Welcome featuring Sherawat because they were too graphic.

Priyanka Chopra refuse reports of unaccounted fortune: In a move to clear her name from the "malicious rumours" reports in the media about her alleged unaccounted wealth, Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has issued a statement rubbishing that there is undisclosed income that runs into crores. A statement from the film star's chartered accountants states that only 50,000 rupees was found in her home and that all the money was accounted for.

Priyanka's representatives also state that all jewellery and houses stated in media reports are already accounted for. It is also said that she hasn't mentioned how many properties she actually owns. I-T officials had searched the residences and office of Priyanka on Monday (Jan 24) for suspected tax evasion. It was reported that the film star owns nine flats in Mumbai and has unaccounted assets worth Rs 6 crore.

Salman Khan is very angry…….

Katrina Kaif’s ex beau Salman Khan isn’t very pleased with the recent I-T raid at the house of Katrina Kaif.
Salman, thrashed the raids by tweeting, “right to raid…then we the right to question….then we have RTI …. Bataooo oh ho ho oh”. He meant, if the IT officials have the right to raid then we have the right to question them and also Right to information (RTI).
The actor who is back on twitter after a long break says a lot about the raids. He then tweeted to urge others to react about it, “Aur ek insaan batao jo mere baat se dis agree karega …chekho chillao, kuch karo…” Next tweet, “ Darr gaye kya? Or am I wrong? Must b thn! Vil jst keep it acting n movie’s. y own frnd don’t want me to tweet. So good nite…”

We can understand the actor’s frustration; it was a matter related to Katrina who is still a “very good friend” of Salman.

Saif makes Deepika comfortable…

Prakash Jha’s next film Aarakshan, will have Deepika Padukone playing the lead. She has started working on the film. The actress was very nervous about the shoot as this is her first film with the director.
Deepy was in Bhopal, shooting at a college, when she suddenly had a nervous break down on looking at the crowd. After seeing the crowd of hundreds gathered at the college campus, she literally fainted.
A source reveals, “Bhopal is foreign territory for Deepika. She hasn’t shot for a film in the city before. Also, working with Jha was a first-time experience for her. His style of working is very different from the directors she’s worked with in the past.”
The source adds, “DP reached the production area, which was in the backyard of the college. Not many students had come in. The crowd was just about trickling in. In matter of couple of hours, the place was packed with students and everyone had gathered to see her shoot.”
Since her character is that of a college girl she was required to shoot at various places in the campus. However, things got better when Saif joined the shoot in the second half of the day.
“Deepika was much more comfortable when Saif came on set. He made her feel relaxed and put her at ease. She was also surprised at what kind of a hold Jha had on the crowd. Despite the fact that there were hundreds of students around, every time he would say action there would be pin drop silence on the set.”
By the end of the day Deepika got comfortable with the college crowd and even interacted with the students, promising to return to their campus once their shoot ends.

Professor Shahrukh in ‘Student Of The Year’

Recently when Johar unveiled the first look of his next film Student Of The Year – that will introduce new faces Varun Dhawan, Aaliya Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra – eyebrows were raised because SRK was conspicuously missing from the credits.
Well, now we hear that SRK will indeed act in the film, apart from co-producing it with Johar. The actor will play a college professor whom the students adore.
Fans of the superstar might say they have already seen SRK playing similar roles in films like Mohabattein and Main Hoon Na.
But trust Karan Johar to make the character different. We hear he is taking a break from the hustle-bustle of Bollywood to work on the script and flesh out SRK’s character. We hope it won’t be just a cameo.

Mallika Sherawat relieved from four year old obscenity case

 
Mallika Sherawat might be feeling a lot relieved after court relieved her from a four year old obscenity case. In 2006, Mallika performed on December 31 at a five star hotel, which was later aired by various news channels.

Her performance ended without any problem but a social activist named Vinod Jain found it an obscene act when it was shown at the news channels. He filed a case against the actress and the suburban five-star hotel. The news it headlines of all the leading media houses at that time.
The ordeal continued for more than four years since then. Now, the Session court has finally dismissed the case saying that there was nothing objectionable.
Mallika is now free from the case and out of the lengthy legal hassles. On the other hand, the complainant Vinod Jain said that the actress might have been freed by the Session court but he will move to the High Court. Jain said that he provided evidence in the form of a CD so he is hoping for the best when he appeals in the High Court.
Sherwat’s lawyer Farid Karichiwla, who is also a partner at Wadia Gandhi and Company, said that he is representing her in this matter and court concluded that there was no obscenity in her performance.
The actress preferred not to comment in this matter but she must be taking a sigh of relief after the court’s decision.

Pooja Batra files for divorce from her hubby!

 
Pooja Batra has filed for a divorce from Los Angeles-based orthopedic surgeon Dr Sonu Ahluwalia, whom she married over eight years ago.

Pooja and Sonu tied the knot on February 9, 2003 at a glittering wedding ceremony in New Delhi with people from the modeling fraternity in attendance. Pooja has acted in films like Virasaat and Haseena Maan Jayegi.
“It’s very sad that they may be splitting up. Sonu is a fantastic guy and is a famous doctor there. He tolerated all her nakhras, bought her a lovely home, a swanky car and was paying for her acting and make-up classes. When they came down last year they seemed very happy together.”
According to the source,  Apparently, Sonu wanted children and Pooja didn’t. She felt that it would affect her figure. She wants a career in Hollywood and has been going for auditions but things aren’t going her way. She has now rented a place in LA where she stays.

Aamir Khan: Ranbir Kapoor is a better actor than Imran Khan

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is one such actor, who has never maintained the diplomacy tag on him. He has never bothered to call a spade a spade. He has not been partial to anyone during his more than two decade long career in Bollywood.

The seasoned actor has yet again proved that he is a thorough professional and does not spare family and friends too. This time, it was turn of his doting nephew Bollywood actor Imran Khan. In a recent interview with Zoom, Aamir was asked to choose between Ranbir Kapoor and Imran as the better actor. Aamir could not be diplomatic here too and said that he loves Imran but as an actor Ranbir is the better one.
Well, it may hurt Imran but he should not forget the big compliment he received from his ‘mamu’. Aamir said that Imran is a ‘lambi race ka ghoda’, which is no doubt a big compliment for him. Aamir might have given a hint to Imran that he needs to work harder if he really wants to stay in competition in the industry. So, this is a genuine concern of his uncle for his betterment so he should take the positive side of it.
On the other hand, we also cannot completely deny the fact that Ranbir has done much more versatile roles in these years compared to Imran so he deserves that compliment from Aamir.

Bollywood star Jacqueline Fernandez who has replaced Mallika Sherawat in ‘Murder 2′ says she is ready to shed her clothes if the role demands it.

“Of course, otherwise why are you an actor, ” said Jacqueline when asked is she would be ready to shed her inhibitions if the script demands.
“Why are you an actor if you are not going to give your whole to a role. Otherwise don’t be an actor that’s what I think, ” said Jacqueline while talking to reporters at the sidelines of ‘Let’s Design season -3′ programme in Kolkata.
“Murder-2″ is as a sequel of the 2004 movie ‘Murder’ – which had steamy scenes and was one of the hits of 2004.
“I don’t know why people are actors when they are not ready to do it. If you are an actor you should be ready to do it. I am a serious actor and I am ready to do it for a character, ” said the 26- year old actress.
She also fuelled rumours about her relationship status by refusing to comment on whether or not she is single.
“Why do you want to know?” giggled Jacqueline to questions whether she is single.
The three-film-old Jacqueline was earlier linked with actor Ritesh Deshmukh. “No comment on that either, ” Jacqueline told reporters in Kolkata.
Jacqueline had earlier worked in ‘Aladin’ and ‘Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai’ opposite Ritesh Deshmukh. Her acting in ‘Aladin’ had earned her International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) award and Stardust award for best female debut in 2010.

Amitabh Bachchan: To portray a psychedelic character in ‘Boodha’

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has enthralled audiences with his amazing and stellar performances for decades on end and every time he has come out with something different in each of his movies.

Right from his serious roles to great romantic films to his very strong performance driven roles Big B has been seen in quite different avatars and looks which have been loved by his diehard fans so much that every time there is an announcement made about his next project speculations about his looks start all over again.
However Big B had more or less maintained a similar look for the past ten years or so with his patent beard and hair with a typical tinge. But now3 since he is reportedly going to be seen in a very different character in the forth coming flick titled ‘Boodha’ reports are that Big B is all set to go in for a complete makeover.
According to the buzz Big B is to portray a psychedelic character in this movie and he is to be seen sporting clothes fit for a teenager. Big B is to play the role of a man of 60 who refuses to grow up mentally and thus imagines himself to be of 25.
Thus in order to make his look authentic and just like the character her is to portray his beard and hair will be colored in vibrant shades. Even his wardrobe will be made to look something like that of a young man in his twenties.
Well seems like Big B is soon going to create an entirely new fashion for the older generation.

Preity Zinta gets a sporty costume for a sporting show

Actress Preity Zinta is all set to show her hosting prowess in the upcoming Colors show Guinness World Records-Ab India Todega. She is stepping in the shoes of the likes of Akshay ‘Khiladi’ Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra by choosing the small screen to show her acumen for stunts!

And as the demand, she has been geared differently for the show – with a complete sportsman look. Preity’s overall look is being put together by Surily Goel and will comprise of casuals teamed with waist-coat (much in vogue last season) with boots et all.
In a media interaction the 35 year old actor stated that she’s happy to be on the idiot-box for a larger audience. She says she believes in pushing the limits and that is what India will witness the contestants do too.
The show’s format is not new though. The Guinness World Records has already run in dozens of countries successfully and is presumably going to give high TRPs to the channel when it airs.
But one wonders if Preity will be as exciting as her other actor peers who have made debut. While Akshay or Priyanka are still hot with the people with their movies, Preity’s career has all but ended over last few years. She is no Amitabh Bachchan either we guess!

Emraan Hashmi: Will Mallika Sherawat bury the hatchet?

 
Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat had created quite a lot of furor with their on screen chemistry in their films together earlier in their foray into Bollywood. One such flick that was a rage was Murder what with their hot lip lock and all that.

However things soured between the two after that the two were not exactly in the best of terms and things soured between the two as rumors about the cold vibes between them was running wild in film circles. But as they say in filmdom there are no permanent friends or enemies.
Thus going by B town rules it was recently reported that during the shooting of the Madhur Bhandarkar flick Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji there was an argument between the actors Emraan Hashmi and Tisca Chopra.
Now, the argument was reportedly due to the fact that Tisca Chopra had passed some comment against Mallika Sherawat which was not taken lightly by Emraan.
Thus an argument of sorts was started between the two which was quite surprising for all the cast and crew members of the film. Everyone was well aware that things were not exactly perfect between Emraan and Mallika and when the actor came on to defend the Hiss actress it was quite a scene created on the sets of DTBHJ.
Well seems like Mallika Sherawat does have a genuine friend in Emraan, and a real good friend is exactly what this sexy gal is in need right now. Will Mallika go ahead and bury the hatchet between them? Will she be genuinely thankful to her co actor in Murder? Wait ‘n’ watch!

Aishwarya Rai rehearsed with viral flu!

Recently there were media reports claiming that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan threw tantrums at an award function in Singapore.

She went for her rehearsal late at night when all had finished with their respective rehearsals. At the rehearsal she insisted with the choreographer to send back the dance troupe as they had been rehearsing all day and used the services of two of the choreographer’s assistants to do a run through and basically saw her whole act performed by them.
However the actress has refuted these reports and issued a clarification statement mentioning that though she was really unwell, she went to Singapore for the award night in advance and she never even mentioned a change or suggested otherwise than what was planned by the organizers, putting the award first and her personal comfort later.
Aishwarya walked the red carpet because the organizers requested her presence on the red carpet as the international media was eagerly awaiting her. Further she went onto to perform her act.She was very cooperative and she went out of her way to understand and accommodate all requests.

Madhur Bhandarkar tries to change tracks. He attempts a switch-over from serious, hard-hitting cinema that chooses to expose the underbelly of society to a light-hearted look at the affairs of the heart. Does he succeed? Well, partially so. For Dil To Baccha Hai Ji may have its heart in the right place but the tone is a bit tenuous and the comedy only intermittently breezy.
Each of the three love tracks have their pros and cons. The highpoint of Ajay Devgn’s romance is Ajay Devgn of course. The actor does look visibly uncomfortable with all that talk of virginity and when-did-you-lose-it business and actually brings out the guffaws when he breaks into a ’70s ballad at a yuppie party. Emraan’s dil dosti story stands out for its gleeful dirty rotten scoundrel act and for the sheer dignity that Tisca Chopra adds to the predator woman cameo. With Omi Vaidya, you know what’s there to smile about: the guy’s boyish innocence and his never-say-die zeal which, as in 3 Idiots, is totally misplaced again. The girls too comfortably slip into their respective shoes, playing heartbreakers to the hilt. While Shazahn is bubbly and sweet, Shruti is cold and calculating, Shraddha is outrageously exploitative and Tisca is mature and moody.
So where’s the glitch? First, the love tangle gets repetitive; the length is a bit too long; the humour missing in many places and the Madhur make-over as a comedy maestro somewhat half-hearted. Nevertheless, there’s enough mood and attitude in the film to make for a pleasant viewing. And there’s Mohit Chauhan too. Check out his melodious ditty, Abhi kuch dino se, which forms the leitmotif of the film. Very hummable.

Mandira Bedi seems to have mastered the art of staying in the news. Even before the buzz around her topless photos could die, new suspicions have emerged. Recently she set tongues wagging after she posed topless in a mini skirt for the Vogue magazine. This time the buzz is that she might be pregnant!

The lady who made the noodle-strap famous when she anchored the world cup shows, might finally be ready to start a family with her husband Raj Kaushal, the producer with whom she has been married for around 11 years now.
So what could possibly have triggered such a rumour? Well, according to latest reports a slight baby bump was noticed when she attended an event recently. Her dress apparently let the cat out of the bag. The event was the calendar launch of Gold’s Gym in Bandra, Mandira Bedi attended the event for a really short time and some observers claim that she was cautious about her movements!
The couple has not confirmed the news but sources reveal that Raj and Mandira are all set to become parents and since it is only the first trimester they have not spoken publicly about it. So does this mean that Mandira will not be hosting the World Cup? Apparently no, because sources say that since its just the early stages of her pregnancy viewers will not really notice. Well with all these pregnancy rumours already floating in the air, one cannot be too sure about that !

A.R.Rahman receives WEF Crystal Award

Indian music maestro A.R.Rahman has bagged yet another prestigious honour in the form of Crystal Award for his contribution in the field of art and music. On Wednesday, the award was conferred at the opening ceremony of annual meet of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

The event was organized by 2,500 global leaders from the field of art, culture, business and religion. They came from more than 11 countries.
The meeting has been attended by Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma, Home Minister P Chidambaram, Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Heavy Industries Minister Praful Patel and Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath.
The five day meeting has started on January 26, 2011. The Mozart of Madras attended the event in an embroidered black kurta. WEF confers this award every year to outstanding artists, who use their talent for social and charitable work.
Apart from recognising his music in Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire, the WEF also considered his association and work for the welfare of children.
While receiving the prestigious award, Rahman said that he gets motivation from his social work. The heads of government like Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, academicians and religious leaders attended the award function.

Ranbir Kapoor wants to take “Rockstar” in his world tour!

It’s been quite some time since, the “Kapoor khandaan” (not to be confused with Anil Kapoor’s “khandaan”) of Bollywood have been busy planning a world tour for young Ranbir. But there has been reports confirming that the much awaited and hyped tour has been put on hold.


The Kapoor’s have all of a sudden realized that Ranbir still hasn’t got much chart busting dance numbers to his name. Bipasha and Katrina have also been approached to perform at Ranbir’s world tour. It’s easier for them to perform as both have them have their signature chartbuster songs like ‘Beedi jalaile’ and ‘Sheila Ki Jawaani.’

It’s being rumored that even Malaika Arora Khan will perform at the event and like we all know she has nothing to worry about as well. Along with ‘Munni badnaam,’ she has scores of other chartbusting songs to dance upon. Young Ranbir has fallen short of songs and thus daddy Rishi Kapoor has put the event on hold.

Rishi Kapoor said in an interview that, one cannot go on a world tour without a bank of songs in his bag. Ranbir’s upcoming film “Rockstar’ is about to release soon and Rishi Kapoor wants his son to get on the stage only after the songs are out, since there are a lot of good songs in the movie. A.R. Rahman has done the music for the movie and it would surely be a foolish thing to do, if they go up on the stage without his songs.

Priyanka Chopra: The queen of reality

There is a saying that if you do well for people, people will do well for you. Bollywood superstar Priyanka Chopra tried to take that too seriously, we recon. It was just few months back when she was seen appearing on a commercial issued in public interest that requested citizens of India to pay their taxes on time.


Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar were amongst the other actors who were featured in the twenty minute television commercial. Priyanka was the perfect ambassador for the Income Tax department of India but it seems that the tides have turned and now she is one of the top tax evasion suspects on their list.

It was just few days back, when Income Tax officers conducted a raid on the Dostana hottie’s house at the suburbs of Versova. Piggy Chops’ daddy dearest was not spared as well. Her parental house at the suburbs of Lokhandwala was also raided. It has been reported that the I.T officials suspect her for tax evasion. They were suspecting that she did not pay the taxes liable for assignments, appearances and endorsements. Officials are now looking into her income statement and trying to find if there is any glitch.

Chopra was considered one of the highest tax payers and biggest youth icons of Bollywood and that is why she was approached for the Television commercial, said a top level I.T officer. But he also mentioned that the department does not spare anyone on suspicion. It would conduct enquiries on anyone and everyone.

A.R Rahman nominated for the 83RD Annual Academy Awards twice

Music composer A.R. Rahman has proved time and again that his renditions are certainly amongst the best ever compositions in the world. However, when such works of art are appreciated by the right authorities it does add a feather in his already feathered cap.


Thus it was quite an overwhelming piece of news when it was announced on Tuesday, the 25th of January that this music maestro has been nominated for the 83rd Annual Academy Awards twice.

The maestro received nominations in two categories. One for his original score in Danny Boyle’s flick titled 127 hours and the second for his original song “If I Rise” which is from the same flick.

A.R. Rahman is pitted against top contenders in the original score category with names like John Powell has received the nomination for How To Train Your Dragon , Hans Zimmer for Inception, Alexandre Desplat for The King’s Speech, Trent Rezmor and Atticus Ross for The Social Network.

In the Best Song category Rahman shares the nominations with Dido and Rolo Armstrong who are the lyricists for the song “If I Rise”.

Despite having received the nominations, A.R Rahman reportedly does not think that he will be the recipient of the award this time. According to tabloid reports, the maestro thinks he’s already got enough Oscars for an entire lifetime. However, he does want to go and enjoy the awards function irrespective of the fact that he might or might not receive the award.

The maestro has already received the Best Original song Award at the 16th Critics Choice Movie Awards for 127 Hours recently.

The Oscar Awards ceremony is scheduled to be held on the 27th of February.

Madhuri Dixit wishes to start a new innings now

The original dhak dhak girl of Bollywood, Madhuri Dixit may soon start grooming people around the globe in the same style that she is dancing. Madhuri is known for her enchanting dancing skills in many a Bollywood films and has gone on to win five Filmfare awards too.


But she has almost ended her filmy career as she opted for a deglam life with her American husband and kids. Approaching mid-40s, the actor shares that one of her dreams now is to impart dancing skills and take dance to more and more people by opening dancing schools all around the globe.

The actor says that for now she is not giving this a thought as she wants her two sons to grow a little more before she ventures into any full time demanding profession. But she also assures that although married and much busy, she has not stopped practicing the art of Kathak in which she has earned much learning since childhood.

Salman Khan likely to play negative role in Mr. India sequel

It has been a long time when the rumor about the sequel of 1987 hit film Mr India started. But nothing solid has come out of these gossips yet. This has irritated not only the fans but also the star of the film Anil Kapoor, who is still remembered for that role played by him.

Recently, the 51 year old star said that the project should be started as soon as possible rather than talking about it so much. Anil added that people have talked a lot about the sequel about the film and there is nothing left to talk about it now. He said that the project is yet blank and it should be started now.
However, the latest reports suggest a new development about the sequel that indicates the Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is expected to play villain in this film. It seems that the negative effect of his character in Dabangg has made him a hot choice for the role of villain. People loved his Chulbul Pandey act, which was quite mischievous.

SRK gets chappals as a gift from Pakistan…

A Pakistani cousin of Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan wants to gift the actor a pair of slippers.
Noor Jehan, who is the daughter of Shah Rukh’s paternal uncle, is eager to meet the star after a long gap of 13 years. If she indeed meets SRK, she’s got a special gift for him: a pair of chappals.
Why chappals, of all things in the world. Noor Jehan reveals it’s only on SRK’s request.
“During an earlier visit to Peshawar, Shah Rukh bought a pair of chappals that he used for about seven years,” Noor Jehan is quoted as saying. The longevity of the footwear apparently prompted SRK to ask Noor Jehan’s brother Mansoor to bring another pair. When Mansoor visited India in 2001, he brought three pairs for SRK.
Now, Noor Jehan too has brought chappals for SRK.
She’ll be in Delhi in the first week of Feb and then approach SRK.

Ranbir-Priyanka ignore each other backstage…

At a recent fashion show, the Anjaana Anjaani couple, Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra were the hot topic of conversation. Reason: the duo ignored each other to the core in the green room.
Says an eyewitness at the fashion show who was present backstage, “Before walking the ramp, all the celebrities (Karan Johar, Shilpa Shetty, Manish Malhotra, Sameera Reddy, Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Tusshar Kapoor and Prateik) were together backstage and there was chatter and laughter all around. Except Ranbir and PC – they didn’t talk at all.”

The source adds that though Ranbir was friendly, he appeared very tense and preoccupied about something.
“Everyone was cheering each other. Priyanka, Karan, Manish and Ranbir stood near the monitor and watched others walk the ramp, but even then, there was not a word exchanged. They were both behaving as though the other was invisible. PC was seen chatting with her Don director Farhan and her Krrish hero Hrithik but pointedly kept a distance from RK. One was left wondering what has gone wrong between the two actors.”

‘Shahrukh used to call me sir, sir during his struggling days’: Salman Khan

Salman debuted in “Maine Pyaar Kiya” in the year 1988 and Shah Rukh made his debut with “Deewana” in 1992. Ever since then they called each other ‘brothers’.
And after more than a decade Salman states “SRK and I can never be friends”. To this King Khan added “Salman and I don’t talk, which is absolutely right”.

The two worked together in films like “Karan Arjun”, “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”, “Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega”, and “Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam”.
It was in 2008 that the two had a fight on Katrina’s birthday bash. In an interview Salman stated “Shah Rukh was like my brother. He used to call me sir, sir during his struggling days.”

What was Shahid doing in Priyanka’s home early in the morning???

Priyanka Chopra was in news yesterday. IT officials who went to raid the actress’s Yari Road home were greeted by Shahid Kapoor who was wearing nothing but shorts. Expecting the sexy Chopra at the door, they were in for a shock on seeing Shahid greeting them instead. Shahid was equally shocked to see the I-T folks…
It was a highly secretive raid and no one came to know of it in advance.
Says a source, “Both, Shahid and Priyanka were quite shocked by the raid. Shahid could not leave immediately. So, he remained there for sometime.”
A source close to Shahid and Priyanka confirmed and said, “Yes, Shahid was present at Priyanka’s place when the IT raid happened. The IT officials came in around 7.30 am.”
Officials said many documents were seized from Chopra’s residence, which was created by merging five flats. 12 lockers were sealed and verification of documents continued till late in the evening. PC’s father, Capt Dr Ashok Chopra home was also raided.

Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor: Won’t be the Heer Ranjha of celluloid

 
Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor were rumored to pair up as Heer Ranjha for Sajid Nadiadwala but the film has been shelved now. The film was to be directed by Sabir Khan but now the film is no longer happening and the reason behind it is said that Deepika is not keen to do the film.

Shahid is now going to be part of another of Sajid’s film directed by Sabir Khan but Deepika will not be part of the venture. A friend of Nadiadwala revealed that Sabir is working on the script of the new film which is not Heer Ranjha. Why is it then that a section of media came to know about Deepika doing a film from Sabir?
The director earlier reported that the height difference between a hero and a heroine is not much of botheration and since Deepika and Shahid have not been paired together it would be an interesting on-screen coupling to see. But at the moment it seems that the fresh pairing is not happening the audience has to wait for quite a while to see these two together on-screen.
Right now Sabir is penning something new and Deepika is not going to romance or sizzle on-screen with Shahid in it. Deepika’s last film was with Abhishek Bachchan Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey and it dunked in the box-office. Next she will be seen doing a special appearance in the song ‘Dum Maro Dum’ in the flick Dum Maro Dum and her major release will be Desi Boyz, Aarakshan and Housefull 2 in 2011. Kareena Kapoor: Cast opposite Abhishek Bachchan in Dostana 2

 
Kareena Kapoor has reportedly replaced Priyanka Chopra in the forth coming flick Dostana 2 where she is cast opposite Abhishek Bachchan. Priyanka  was earlier cast for the project has reportedly lost it out to Kareena Kapoor.

Kareena Kapoor had debuted with Bachchan junior in 2000 in JP Dutta’s ‘Refugee’, where she sashayed the role of a village belle.
After that she had developed inhibitions to work with Abhishek Bachchan due to her sister Karisma Kapoor’s broken relationship with him.
However now since things have cooled down considerably with Abhishek happily married and Karisma settled into her own world, Kareena and Abhishek have again decided to give their careers a different path and shed all inhibitions for professional reasons.

Amitabh Bachchan extends a helping hand towards the ailing A. K. Hangal

 
A. K. Hangal, the actor of yesteryear’s, is in a pitiful state at 95-year. He has been suffering from age related illness and his family, which consists of his 75-year old son Vijay, cannot afford his medical expenses.

The medical bills of A. K. Hangal have touched Rupees 15,000 every month and the Hangals now have to make a choice between medicines and food. They live in a modest flat on the ground floor of Saraswati Apartments in Santacruz East.
In his micro-blogging site, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has recently mentioned that he came to know of the ailing A. K. Hangal through the “social net and net”. Amitabh Bachchan has expressed his sympathies for his Sholay, Abhimaan and Sharabi co-star.
Although Bachchan is not in town, he has asked his office to help and support Mr. Hangal. He also mentioned that there are some people in Bollywood who enjoyed the limelight during their prime but in their old age lead a miserable life of poverty and pain. Bachchan finds such occurrences very disturbing. He said that life is full of such unfortunate circumstances that even a great man can come down on his knees. Bachchan finds such situations “most undesirable” to comment on but deserving action for their welfare.
Earlier Amir Khan had come forward to help Mr. Hangal, who had worked with him in Lagaan.

The National Award winning actress is also happy to have a happy life back home and says that her kids are too small to face camera as they shy away from it. We hope, the second innings of the actress in this new career brings her success the same way Bollywood did!

Salman Khan indicated dark signals at Jaipur marathon: Bollywood actor Salman Khan was shown black flags by the members of the Bishnoi community, when he arrived here on Sunday to inaugurate the Jaipur Marathon Race 2011.

The members of the Bishnoi community protested against Khan's presence at the event as the actor was convicted for killing black bucks, an endangered species, in 2006. The Bishnoi community activists also raised slogans against the Tourism Minister Bina Kak and assailed her sharing the same platform with one accused of being a killer of an endangered animal.

"The Chief Minister (Ashok Gehlot) should ask for a resignation from such minister (Bina Kak) because on one side the government claims to protect environment and on the other hand to hurt the emotions of environment lovers is welcoming an animal killer. A minister from the government is standing there with the actor welcoming him," said a protesting Bishnoi.

The police personnel later had to baton charge the protestors to disperse the crowd. It has been reported that the police later took around 15 members of the Bishnoi community into its custody. Bishnois, who hail from Rajasthan, are devout protectors of the flora and fauna.

Bollywood King – Shah Rukh Khan, who visited Fiji in 1998 says he has fond memories of Fiji and is fascinated with the hospitality. “It was a great experience to come there and meet every one there so basically it was very wonderful experience there.”

Shah Rukh Khan is expected to make a visit to Fiji later this year as part of the Bollywood Movie – “Kia” which will be shot in Fiji. “Kia” is among the three Bollywood movies to be shot in Fiji which will rake in around $20 million to Fiji’s economy.

Priyanka Chopra & Katrina Kaif upset for tex department raided: The Income Tax department raided the houses of Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra early Monday morning. The I-T raids have been underway at official and residential premises of both the leading actresses of Bollywood.

The sleuths of Income Department have been searching the premises of Priyanka and Katrina for the last four hours. According to the sources, both are accused of tax evasion and hiding the actual income in their filed Income Tax Return (ITR). Managers of both the actresses will also be interrogated by the IT sleuths. However, the detailed information will be cleared after the raids are completed.
