Movie Review : Daayen Ya Baayen (2010)

This film is about a Quoxotian character, inspired from our folk tales of the Himalayas. The movie is simple and believable yet it lacks the drive at several instances.
Deepak Dobriyal of Omkara plays the role of Ramesh Majila who returns to his small scenic village located in the mountains of Uttarakhand. He is looked upon as a hero as any other city return man is treated in the villages of India. He claims to be a writer by profession in Mumbai and wrote for many of the serials that were telecasted. Soon he turns a joke for all the villagers when he decides to settle down in the village and takes the job of a English teacher at the local school. He is looked down by not only the villagers but also his wife for his impractical ambition of opening a Kala Kendra ( art center) , poetic thoughts and radical ways of teaching.
Life takes a dramatic turn for him when one of his random poetic invention gets selected for an ad jingle and wins him a swanky luxurious red car. This prize gets him adorns and love from children and grudge from others. He rises to a heroic status overnight. However his life spirals into a series of comic conflicts as he struggles to match the rest of his life to the car that adorns his cowshed, undoing himself completely in the process and losing the respect of his most ardent fan, his young son. When the car is stolen, he sets out on a journey to recover something more than his prized possession – his lost dignity.
Director Bela Negi has attempted to give a very sweet and simple film and I would say that she has pretty well succeeded in doing so. This film makes way for filmmakers who along with entertaining are also trying to create a meaningful cinema showcasing the realities of life. Though the movie is based on the life of a villager and the general problems faced in a village, it underlines certain identities, values and aspirations which are common among all the people. This movie deals with materialistic aspirations and down to earth issues, but with comic lining. The story is straightforward and different but it is the dialogues that make it more entertaining. Each and every character in the movie is typical and once can easily relate to them. The best part about the film is that it doesn’t lose it humour even at the darkest point.
Deepak Dobriyal has given a brilliant performance as the main protagonist. His acting ability and perfect comic timing stands testimony to his years spent in theater. He would be treat to watch on the screen for the observant and attentive audience. He is a powerful actor and a treat for the observant audiences. The movie would be much appreciated by those who can understand the subtle intricacies of the story, the idiosyncrasies of its various characters, the dialogues, and the overall humour and light heartedness of the film. Without any doubt ,this is one of his finest performance on screen. He has very beautifully played the roles of a day-dreamer, poet, visionary, husband, father and above all a messy loser. His character is beautifully supported by Badrul Islam, a fanboy hopelessly sweet in his own way. Pratyush as Ramesh’s son radiates lot of potential and is simply adorable throughout the movie.
Daayen Ya Baayen is slated to release on 29th October, 2010. It is a simple but stretched film. Though it is elongated yet it is enjoyable.

The film called Main Krishna Hoon will be on the life of Lord Krishna, starting from his childhood Leelas (pranks) up to adulthood. The film is being directed by Rajiv S Ruia of My Friend Ganesha fame.
Katrina says, “Let it be a secret. But yes, I am doing this film on the life of Lord Krishna because my hairstylist Promila Hunter is producing the film. When she asked me if I would make an appearance I didn’t even ask her what my role was. Only later did I get to know that it is a film on the life of Lord Krishna.”
Katrina who is currently in Patiala shooting for a Yash Raj film, is busy preparing for it. She is using all her free time to read up on the life of Lord Krishna.

Readers Rating: 1.5 (one out of five)
There’s a bit of romance juggled with a bit of action here to create a run-of-the-mill thriller which takes so much time to rev up, it leaves you restless. More importantly, there seems to be some confusion about what our young hero (Shubh) actually wants to be. Does he want to be a gamer, excelling in playstation antics or does he aspire to be a new age Salim-Javed, writing bestselling scripts for blockbuster films? We’re as confused as the laddie’s lost lady (Sabina Sheema) who tries hard to lure him away from the game console. And when he does, he ends up with strange producers who keep paying him money for a film that never hits the floors.
Flummoxed? Yes. So are we. The film perks up only in the action cuts when Milind Soman leaps and bounds across the screen in hot pursuit of the necklace chor. But that’s not enough to keep up the momentum in a film that’s in desperate need of editing and punch. Also, what’s Anupam Kher doing in a two-bit role that doesn’t justify his presence in any way.

Ever since Akshay Kumar could remember he has been the hugest fan of Rajesh Khanna. And now the reclusive Khanna has been coaxed out of his ivory tower to view his son-in-law’s latest film which pays a homage to the decade when Rajesh Khanna ruled.
Says Akshay Kumar, “As a kid I was the biggest Rajesh Khnana fan.Who wasn’t his fan in the 1970s?I remember queuing up for hours to watch Aradhana, Amar Prem, Kati Patang. These are among my favorite films of all times.”
Interestingly Akshay married his idol’s daughter in real life.

Convincing the reclusive Khanna wasn’t easy. Says Akshay, “But I was determined that he watches the film. The film is set in the era that belongs to my father-in-law. A party to prove that Salman-Govinda friendship is on

David who has been closely associated with both Salman and Govinda has done the maximum number of films with the two stars. He’s now in the process of bringing them together for the sequel to Partner.
But the problem is with the stories about the Partners’ real-life rift. They are taking a toll on David. And he has decided to do something about the crisis. He is toying with the idea of hosting a party to celebrate the Salman-Govinda friendship.
“And why just the Salman-Govinda friendship? It will be to celebrate the Salman-Govinda-David friendship. I get very disturbed when I hear about their so-called rift. Arrey yaar, both are far above such bickering. Look at Govinda’s track-record. He has been at the top for decades.
As for Salman, with Dabangg he has proved he is beyond all competition.I hate to see people talking about two of my closest friends in this negative way. So yes. a party celebrating Salman and Govinda’s friendship and my friendship with them seems a good idea, ” says David emotionally.

Says David, “I’m committed to direct a film Rascals for Sanjay Dutt Productions from next month. Dutt is one of my oldest and closest friends. The first film I directed had Sanju in it. Then I’m committed to directing Partner2 for Salman Khan and Govinda.So my career is devoted to friends.”
Family would naturally have to look elsewhere.David’s younger son Varun is being launched as a leading man by Karan Johar.
Says David, “All I can tell you at the moment is that my elder son Rohit is directing his first film Desi Boyz and my younger son Varun is going to be an actor. I’d have liked to launch both in their respective careers. But I am committed to making films with my friends.”
Rascals will feature Dutt who is one of David’s oldest and dearest friends with Ajay Dvgn and Kangna Ranaut. It will be a typical David Dhawan comedy.

Law of averages hits Ajay Devgn

It was clear, audience were not in any mood whatsoever to check out what Priyadarshan had to offer in his dramatic venture. After a one week run, this Ajay Devgn and Akshaye Khanna had a mere 11 crore opening which was very bad by all means. Poor collections are also disheartening due to the fact that the film was appreciated not just by the critics but also those form the ‘aam junta’ who caught it in theaters.
The no-show of Akrosh also means that Ajay Devgn has been hit by the law of averages. After a successful stint that saw Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge, Raajneeti and Once Upon a Time In Mumbaai scoring at the box office, he has hit a road block with Aakrosh. It still cannot be termed as a setback though as he has Golmaal 3 arriving in a few days from now which is a definite winner by all means. As for Priyadarshan, rest assured he would be back in the business of making comedies. Sad, but true.
The other major release of the week, Knock Out, has turned out to be a disaster at the box office. Though it hadn’t been appreciated to the same level as Aakrosh, it still wasn’t written off by those who saw it. It was a reasonably entertaining affair but with not much buzz backing it up, this Sanjay Dutt and Irrfan Khan starrer folded up at mere 4 crores. With disastrous audience foot falls evidenced in case of new releases, not much can be expected from the second week of Knock Out either. The film would touch 5 crores mark but that’s about it. A terrible outing for Sanjay Dutt whose next release is No Problem, an ensemble affair by Anees Bazmee.
As for Ramayana – The Epic, despite good reviews coming from good quarters, the picture was clear on the opening day itself. With the film struggling to complete one full week at the box office, it has further proven to be a full stop in the world of animation movies coming out of Bollywood.

The traditional mehendi and sangeet ceremony took place on Thurdsay to mark the beginning of a new life of the couple. The marriage ceremony will take place at a sprawling farmhouse in the outskirts of Bangalore.
A source close to the actor informed that close family friends and relatives has arrived at the venue on Wednesday to bless the couple. The décor of the wedding venue is reported to be very chic, elegant and classy. A royal touch has been given to all the preparations starting from the wedding card, which was prepared with different herbs in a eco-friendly manner.
The 34-year-old actor met his bride-to-be on the suggestion of his friends and claimed to have found his soulmate in her. The 28-year-old management graduate became the love of his life in the first meeting itself. Priyanka is the daughter of former Karnataka minister late Jeevaraj Alva. The wedding ceremony is expected to be attended by some of Bollywood stars.

Now she is all set to make her debut in the amil film industry and has already completed shooting for a couple of films.
The actress was signed for the film ‘Maappilai’ and is starring opposite Dhanush as the female lead. Bollywood’s yesteryear actress Manisha Koraila plays her mom’s role and Dhanush is the protagonist. It is worth mentioning that the film is a remake of superstar Rajnikanth’s yesteryear blockbuster with the same title. Her other film ‘Engeyum Kadhal’, which is directed by choreographer-turned-filmmaker Prabhu Deva is also complete and is scheduled to hit the screens in November.
Having done with a couple of films with the big banners, she is now busy filming for her next project titled ‘Velayudham’ that has Vijay in the lead role. Pairing with Vijay has been her dream and is now elated of winning this offer. At the moment, scenes involving her and Vijay are being shot in the backdrops of cool-n-green Pollachi.
Hansika Motwani has now decided of signing new projects only after the release of these films.

“I couldn’t believe it when I saw them all trickling in one after another over the weekend”, Asin can’t control her excitement here as she is presented a list of all the activities that her friends have planned for her today, “They live in different parts of the world – USA, Europe, Australia. I did talk to them on and off in last few weeks but never had the faintest of idea that they were actually planning to come over to Mumbai.”
Her own visit to Mumbai was long overdue. Busy with the shooting of her Hindi film ‘Ready’ with Salman Khan and Tamil flick ‘Kaavalan’ with Vijay, Asin was out of the city for number of days and could just make it in time to be back in Mumbai with her family.
“Thank goodness I managed to get a break”, Asin heaves a sigh of relief, “It was only last Sunday when I actually got a little break. I have been out of Mumbai shooting continuously and it was after more than a month that I finally came back. I guess the wait has been worth it though since so much has been seemingly planned for my birthday. I can’t wait to open all the boxes of goodies that are lying around.”
Undoubtedly, she is mighty excited about how the day unfolds.
“It’s so sweet of my friends to have come all the way to India just to be with me today”, she brings on a smile here, “They have made me feel special. It has been such a long time since we all met. With them and my parents, it is going to be a lovely day for sure. All my friends know my parents very well. They have grown up right in front of my parents. I am sure we all will have a lot of fun together. My friends have done their job right to surprise me with their visit. It is over to my parents to do their bit now!”
Deepika and Siddhartha to judge models for ‘Kingfisher Calendar 2011′

This time too, hundreds of models will line up to try their luck and ace photographer Atul Kasbekar will shoot the entire 2011 calendar again. However, the latest addition in this year’s project is Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who happens to be girlfriend of liquor baron Vijay Mallya’s son Sidhartha Mallya. Well, before you start guessing lets clarify one thing that Deepika will not wear a two piece and start modeling for the calendar. The actress is playing the role of a judge along with her beau to select the 12 sexiest models. She was there to support her beau on choosing the models on Tuesday.
Several models participated in the competition to feature in the popular Kingfisher swimsuit calendar. Speaking about the criteria of her selection, Deepika said that the models should be intelligent apart from having good looks.
Padukone added that she just doesn’t want a good looking face or a perfect body but a perfect blend of both beauty and brain. She thinks that if one really wants to be successful, she has to be the entire package of intelligence, smartness, good look along with a perfect figure.
The actress added that she had been a part of the Kingfisher calendar earlier, so she can identify with the aspiring models very easily. Deepika added that during her time, there was no model hunt and she feels lucky to get that opportunity. She said that Atul Kasbekar noticed her at that time as she already started modeling by that time and she did not even required to compete with anyone.
Mallya stated that Kingfisher Calendar gives the biggest platforms to the aspiring models. He did not forget to compliment the models saying that they were bold and beautiful.
The calendar was launched in 2003, which was the first of its kind in India. We believe in association with an experienced model like Deepika, Sidhatha will choose some fresh and attractive faces, which will offer 12 fresh fragrances for 2011!
Aishwarya and Rajnikanth’s starrer ‘Endhiran’ now in 3D

The latest news is about Shankar and producers in Sun Pictures planning up for this greater show now. Released wit more prints across the World and dubbed in various languages, Endhiran is still remaining at No.1 position with house-packed shows.
Exceeded their own levels of expectations, producer Kalanidhi Maaran and Sun Pictures COO are into the process of releasing the second version in 3D Format. Another highlighting feature is the film being dubbed in English. Already Sun Pictures had some talks with HBO to promote the film western countries, but didn’t happen due to some reasons. Now it looks like the titans may come together for the biggest results.
Previously there were news about the film being released in 3D version and was later dropped as many theatres in Tamil Nadu didn’t have the facility of 3D screens and converting them into 2D will be an additional expense.
The film is about Dr. Vasigaran, a great scientist specialized in robotics. After a long dream run of 10 years, he invents a robot looking exactly like a human and names it Chitti. The versatile Robot has a unique nature of possessing strength and intellect of many human beings. When Vasi introduces Chitti into the human environment and is programmed with ‘Emotional Hormone’, it leads to some mind blowing incidents.
Kareena displeased with ‘Golmaal 3′ director

However, there is one actor or say actress, who is not very happy with the director and she is none other than our very own Kareena Kapoor, who has been associated with the series since the second film. In Golmaal Returns, the second part, Bebo was portrayed as the television serial freak wife Ekta, who keeps on suspecting her husband, played by Ajay Devgn. Their chemistry rocked and the film was a big hit of the year.
However, Kareena does not seem to be very happy with the development of the third film. She found the treatment of the film very boring and comic situations very repetitive. She was fed up shooting at the same locations again and again. There is a buzz that Bebo is quite miffed with the director Rohit Shetty. According to her, Rohit has given a very out-of-date look to the third film, which is likely to hit the theaters during this festive season of Diwali.
The reports suggest that most of the scenes in the film have been shot in Goa. The earlier two films were also shot at the same places and this has annoyed Kareena and that has made her doubt about the directing skills of Shetty.
As per the sources, the monotony of locales is not liked by Bebo and she wants the director to take a different approach on the film. A recent report has indicated that Kareena wants Rohit to shoot the film in foreign locales. So, does she want Shetty to shoot the film in her favorite destination Switzerland? Well, this sounds to be a new gimmick to promote the film just before the release!
Akshay Kumar plays himself to launch best friend’s son

Akshay will play Akshay in Breakaway and that too because the debutant Vinay Virmani, who has co-scripted Breakaway, hero-worships Akshay and wrote the role specially for the star.
Says a source close to the project, “Akshay and AJ (that’s how Ajay Virmani likes to be known ) go back a long way. In fact AJ has a permanent room in his home for Akshay for whenever the star visits Toronto. Earlier AJ ghost-produced some of Akshay’s films. Now they’re openly into joint ventures. Akshay has virtually seen Vinay grow up in front of him. The boy completely idolizes Akshay to the extent of imitating his mannerisms and watching all his films repeatedly.”
When Vinay wrote the father-son story in Breakaway, he not only borrowed scenes from his own life with his father-figure Akshay, the boy also insisted on creating a cameo for his idol. For the first time Akshay Kumar will appear as himself on screen.
Confirming this, Anupam Kher, who plays Vinay Virmani’s father in Breakaway ,says from Toronto, “Akshay will appear as himself in the film. Breakaway is an emotional father-son story. I accepted the film because I’ve a very powerful role as a father.”
Anupam tried to grow a beard for the part. But finally gave up. “The facial growth was just not sufficient. So Vinay will have to make do with a beardless father.”

Bhansali is very impressed by her beauty, acting skills and sharp mind. He said that Ash is not just a beautiful woman but she has a very beautiful and sharp mind too. Bhansali said that he has gone through lots of humiliation and this is very important for an artist.
The Guzaarish filmmaker was quoted saying that it always feels special to work with Aishwarya. Bhansali added that he feels to be blessed to work with an actor like Ash, who understands him and can interpret his instructions without saying much. She understands the reason when I don’t like a shot and it’s like connecting two minds completely and understanding everything.
In Guzaarish, Aishwarya plays the role of a nurse called Sofia, which is again a very powerful one like in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas.

Well about losing some of the Bollywood offers, Trisha isn’t worried as she says that Hindi film industry was not her main concern. Says Trisha: ‘I am looking forward for the best offers irrespective of regional factors. I am really surprised to hear about media stories that claim that Khatta Meeta was a flop movie. Well, I have got nothing to do with the film’s results as everyone has their own roles in determining the film’s results, not just the actresses.’
The actress also utters that she has now started signing films that delineated her in a substantial character. It was very much illustrious with her previous film Abhiyum Naanum. The actress has now signed Ajith Kumar’s 50th film Mankatha and Telugu movie Kushiga, which is a remake of yesteryear Bollywood blockbuster Love Aaj Kal.
She has already completed shooting for her next Tamil movie Manmadhan Ambu, in which she shares screen space with Kamal Haasan and Madhavan.
Vivek Oberoi will visit Anantapur

Says Ramu, “Vivek will finally visit Anantapur, meet the local politicians and also relatives of Paritala Ravi (the character Oberoi plays in Rakht Charitra) and visit Paritala Ravi’s grave.”
Varma won’t be accompanying Vivek. “I don’t want to end up in the grave next to Paritaka Ravi. Is Vivek’s visit dangerous? We’ll soon know,” Varma jokes.Incidentally Varma thinks the strong visual and verbal violence of Rakht Charitra is a sign of the censorboard’s growing maturation.
At one point in the brutal narration, the film’s main villain Bukka Reddy who abducts and brutally rapes and kills his victims tells one of his victims, “Yes, I raped your sister. I’ll rape your grandmother as well. Do what you can.” Apparently the ‘grandmother’ bit was the brainchild of the actor Abhimanyu Singh who plays Bukka. In the rough-and-tough neighbourhood of Bihar where Singh grew up such innovative abuses were prevalent.
Singh suggested they add the line to Bukka’s endless litany of atrocities. Varma happily complied. Says Abhimanyu, “Ramuji wanted me to portray Bukka as a sex addict. I went the whole hog.” He fought the censorboard to get the ultra-violent content of Rakht Charitra passed by the check-post. But a day after the film’s release Varma had to give in to pressure in Andhra Pradesh and cut out two sequences showing the N. T Rama Rao-inspired politician played by Shatrughan Sinha colluding with criminals.
This overnight deletion followed widespread protests in Andhra Pradesh against their late beloved leader being depicted as a neta harbouring criminal connections. Speaking from Hyderabad, Varma admits that scenes had to be chopped off a day after the release of Rakhta Charitra to appease local sentiments.

Namitha was almost kidnapped!

Namitha reached Tiruchy Monday by plane to take part in a function at Karur, around 330 km from here. She was to travel to Karur by car. At the Trichy airport, a man identified as Periasamy introduced himself to her as the driver arranged by the function organisers.
Believing him, she boarded the car which sped away. Seeing this, the real driver informed the organisers, who started chasing the speeding car. The hot pursuit came to an end when the kidnapper car was overtaken and brought to a halt. A subdued Periasamy told police that he was a fan of Namitha. But police said he gave contradictory answers to other questions.
Explaining the situation, the actress’s spokesperson said, “We had arrived at Trichy airport and as instructed, had gotten into a car that was waiting for us at the airport. We were booked to check in at a hotel in Karur and we had a pleasant ride until we arrived at the premises of the hotel.”
The spokesperson elaborates, “As soon as we got out of the car, we came to know that our driver was not the one originally assigned to drive us to the hotel. In fact, the imposter was a die-hard fan of the actress who wanted to have the privilege of driving his favourite actress from the airport till her hotel…
The fan had essentially gone to great lengths to find out the identity of the driver who would chaperone Namitha from the airport, taking almost an hour to convince him that he was assigned by Namitha to drive her till outside the airport, considering crowd control issues.”

Well! Renowned Bengali director Rituparno Ghosh is all geared up to bring on celluloid the tale of Kabulliwallah penned by the Noble Award winner Rabindranath Tagore.
Amitabh shall play the protagonist Kabulliwallah who woos the young girl Mini with his baadam pistas and akhroths. Vidya shall play the grow-up avatar of Mini.
Vidya Balan is pretty gung ho about this project as Kabulliwallah is one of her fav stories. Vidya often wonders what may have happened to the character of Mini post her marriage.
This is, surely, a touching, moving tale of an old man and an inquisitive girl and deserves a celluloid immortality by the likes of great actors like Amitabh.

Aishwarya says, “I am working I’m busy promoting my films. ACTION REPLAYY is releasing on the 5th. So, obviously it involves a lot of intense work.”

They apparently wanted Preity to reveal everything about her tryst with the underworld when she got extortion calls from the mafia, to her relationship with Ness Wadia and even to her recent IPL crisis.
However, Preity confirmed to BT that she has kept the mouth-watering cash offers at bay as she wants to pen her autobiography so that it has the quintessential Preity touch and tone. She wants it to read like she is narrating it and does not want it to reflect any other writer’s style.
The actress, we also hear, is uncomfortable dishing out controversial details of her court case against the Indian mafia when she testified against them in the Bharat Shah case in 2003. Preity’s life was at risk and she was given round the clock police protection as she was the only star who did not retract her statements in court unlike many other superstars.
Preity, for her act of courage, was awarded a top bravery award of the country. But she isn’t willing to share her personal life with a biographer, especially details of her broken relationship with her business magnet ex-boyfriend Ness. When contacted, Preity said, “I think no one but me has the right to write about my life as I want to write it in a particular way. I don’t think any other person will be able to tell the story of my life like how I have approached it. It works best when it’s written by someone who has experienced it herself. There are sensitive issues like the underworld, my relationships and several other personal facts that are within me which no one knows. I can’t think of giving access to them as I won’t be comfortable.”

Attending the audio release function of the film were lead actors Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan along with husband Abhishek and mom Vrinda Rai. Father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan was also present at the occasion to unveil the first audio record of the film.
Reports claim that while papa Bachchan exited immediately after his commitment was over, Abhishek Bachchan was left in the company of his mother-in-law, while Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan and Guzaarish director Sanjay Bhansali went about with the promotion work for their film. If reports are to be believed, Abhishek Bachchan left the function early with mother-in-law Vrinda Rai in tow, and also appeared angry when photographers tried to capture him in their frame! Aishwarya was, quite naturally, left behind with Hrithik and the film’s crew for more promotion work.
So was Abhishek really angry? We would say no, because the Junior Bachchan has taken over the role of the supporting hubby with élan and handles it with a lot of professionalism.

According to recent developments, Celina will now be on the esteemed jury of the Cairo Film Festival. Incidentally, she was honored at the film festival last year for her English film. When contacted, Celina was over the moon and said, “I am proud to be the tourism ambassador of Egypt and I am looking forward to being the jury on one of the most esteemed film festivals of the world.”

The Rampal couple were not alone, close friends from the industry were also present at Hrithik’s Juhu residence to wish his wife a very happy birthday.
Every actor (or director) made sure to come fully dressed in their respective Halloween costumes. While Kunal Kapoor was dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow, Karan Johar came attired in the costume of a priest! Also spotted at the party were childhood friends Uday Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan along with wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who unfortunately were not dressed correctly for the occasion! Though Gauri Khan did make it to the event, hubby SRK remained absent. Shah Rukh is reportedly in Berlin filming the last lap of Don 2. Zoya Akhtar and Rinkie Khanna, the not-so popular faces in star parties made most of the Hrithik Roshan bash. Accompanying husband Goldie Behl was actress Sonali Bendre. And Sanjay Kapur came dressed in “Dabanng” style!
Going by the posts of several celebrities on the micro blogging site Twitter, they surely had a lovely time dressing up for the Hrithik Roshan Halloween bash. According to Arjun Rampal, it was one of the best parties he had attended.

In a statement to the media, the actor says that it was lovely working with his beautiful leading lady again. On hearing that their pairing is rather unconventional, Akshay Kumar expresses surprise at the fact that no filmmaker ever thought of casting the two together after Khakee.

As the hot bod star has managed to capture hearts of the audiences with her steering performances in most of her flicks after ‘OSO’, she is slowly but steadily managing to get a strong foothold in the industry.
Films like Bachchna Ae Haseeno, Love Aaj Kal, Karthik calling Karthik, Houseful, etc have shown her the path to become quite an established star and her forth coming flicks like Break Ke Baad, and Khelein Hum Jee Jaan se are quite promising too, going by the various reports doing the rounds.
However, to add another feather to her almost feathered cap is the news that she is being considered to be a part of the super hit Abbas Mastan flick Race sequel, titled Race 2.
Well, considering that the flick Race, was a super duper hit with female stars like Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif, Sameera Reddy, along with their male counter parts like Anil Kapoor, Akshaye Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, it is being anticipated that a new cast in the sequel is being panned and it is quite a matter of a challenging proposition to be able to beat the heart beating experience in Race.
However, the fact that Priyanka Chopra was to be cast in the sequel Race2 is now being considered to a thing of the past, as Deepika and Kareena are now expected to be the ones to bag the roles as the female protagonists.
Well, with Deepika on the road to capture the Race2 role, the road to becoming the number one star is perhaps getting less rocky for her!
Clash between Shahid and Hrithik on TV!

It will have dancers not just from India, but from all over the world. “When it’s Hrithik, the competition ought to be fierce,” says a source. Shahid Kapoor, on the other hand, is being wooed by the makers of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa to be a judge on the show. Madhuri Dixit has agreed to be a part of Jhalak, hence the makers wanted to have somebody big as a judge along with her. And who better than Shahid, who is considered one of the finest dancers in the film industry besides Hrithik.
If both these stars agree to make their debut on the small screen then we won’t be surprised if the shows are pitted against each other just like the current Amitabh Bachchan-Salman Khan- Akshay Kumar competition created by channels through Kaun Banega Crorepati, Bigg Boss and MasterChef.
