Katrina Kaif is literally on a high with plum
offers, not only in films but endorsements too. She has been the face of choice
for various brands. She was chosen as the brand ambassador of a jewellery brand
(replacing Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) and has already topped all opinion polls for
popularity — she was even declared the sexiest woman in India by an
international men’s magazine. Moreover, she became the most searched Indian
celebrity on Google. While much has been written about her replacing Ash (again)
as the Indian face of Barbie, it only goes to show that her popularity has risen
like never before.
Even Bollywood can’t get enough of Katrina. She has
back-to-back films releasing this year, starting with Yash Raj’s New York with
John Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh followed by Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani with
Ranbir Kapoor. She also has Prakash Jha’s forthcoming Rajniti (which could just
be an acid test for her, being pitted opposite actors like Nana Patekar). It is
not just beauty that has kept Katrina going; her success has been more than skin
deep. The actress has been working hard and putting all efforts into her films
in order to make them big successes.
A source says that ever since Katrina has been signed up to lend her likeness
to Barbie, children are eagerly awaiting a look at the real doll. Katrina loves
children as much as they love her. She recently paid a visit to poor ragpickers
through an NGO called the Acorn Foundation. “The children enjoyed meeting her
and they danced and sung along with her. They also showed her paintings
specially made by them and Katrina couldn’t stop raving about their talent.
Katrina spoke to the children at length and
encouraged them to follow their dreams. Just like she has followed hers,” the
source says.
