You are not alone: Asin

Although Asin is inundated with Hindi film offers
after she made her Bollywood debut in Ghajini, she refuses to leave her father
Joseph Thottumkal’s side ever since he was admitted to a hospital a few days
ago. He will soon undergo surgery.The worried daughter almost had a heated
argument with her ailing father as she wanted to be by his side. However, Asin
stood her ground and cancelled some of her commitments. Joseph was admitted to a
hospital at Andheri after he complained of stomach ache. A source said, “Despite
his condition he didn’t let Asin know about it as she was busy shooting. Next
morning, Asin learnt about it and forcibly took him to the hospital where he was
diagnosed with appendicitis.

Asin and her father had planned to go to Kerala for
the elections but they cancelled the plan and stayed put in Mumbai. Asin had no
plans of leaving her father’s side but on his strict insistence, she reluctantly
attended an event on April 17 for which she had already committed. She managed
to get some work done which couldn’t be cancelled at the last minute, while
cancelling commitments which she could attend to at a later date. Even now, she
immediately leaves for the hospital whenever she can take a break during her
dubbing sessions and ad shoots,” said the source.

We contacted Asin just when she had reached the
hospital. She said, “I’ve been trying to spend as much time as possible with my
father. I had to cancel most of my work commitments. He has appendicitis and
he’ll soon have to undergo surgery. He has been trying to postpone the surgery
as there are too many professional commitments to take care of but I want him to
get treated as soon as possible.”

Joseph said, “I am extremely particular about
professional commitments and am completely against Asin missing out on work. But
she has been an extremely caring and loving daughter despite her busy schedule.”
