Happy Birthday Big B

He’s a Bollywood megastar, a man who reinvented himself over decades. He’s won more awards than he can remember, has starred in more than 200 films and he’s built himself an entertainment empire. And today he celebrates his 68th birthday.

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan says he’d like to spend the day quietly in his home, surrounded by his family.

His son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya are in South Korea but have made arrangements to get back in time for spend at least part of the day with him.

Rumours were rife that Big B would host a special party on his birthday but said: “That whole news about some kind of celebration is wrongly reported.”

He’s told IANS: “Generally I remain at home, I meet the family, be with them and yes if there are people who want to come and see me, then I go out and meet them.”

Asked how different it would be at 68, he said: “Well, every year is different. What one can one say – I’ll be completing 68 and stepping into 69. It’s been 41 years in the industry. It’s a long time.”
